Luronica is an hyaluronic acid oral supplement which may assist in maintaining normal healthy cartilage and with lubrication of the joints.

It may be particularly useful in supporting high motion joints in equine athletes.

Hyaluronic acid is the active ingredient in Luronica which is a key component of synovial fluid, giving the fluid its desired “slipperiness”.

Luronica is a pleasantly apple-flavoured, pinkish liquid which can be added to food or water.
Importantly it is not of animal origin as the hyaluronic acid is produced in a bio fermentation process.

What is the difference between Luronica and Pentosan, and what proof is there that it works?

Pentosan is poly-sulphated-glyco-amino-glycan which is an injectable S4 Veterinary medicine. It is used for the integrity of the joint cartilage.

Luronica is an Hyaluronic Acid oral supplement beneficial for the joint fluid between the cartilage inside the joint.

The oral Hyaluronic Acid supplements, of which there are many on the market, are seen to work in the horse.

Does Luronica cause stomach ulcers?

Hyaluronic Acid is currently awaiting a patent for use as a treatment for peptic (stomach) and duodenal ulcers and bleeding ulcers.  A diagnosis of stomach ulcers should have been achieved with a gastroscope that can only physically reach the stomach and duodenum in an adult horse.
Therefore Luronica  should assist ulcer therapy not cause ulcers.
Additionally, Egusceed may assist with stomach and duodenal ulcers AND ulceration of the large intestine.

Regarding your Hyaluronate product is it a high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate and is it derived from non animal substrates?

Luronica is a high molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid as evidenced by the viscosity seen with the product.
Luronica is derived from non-animal sources.
