I was fortunate to grow up on a farm near Mudgee, New South Wales. We always had horses and much of my childhood was spent mustering sheep and riding around the bush with my brother and sister.
We were all heavily involved in Pony Club from a young age. My parents were very supportive of our riding and Mum would spend her weekends driving us around the countryside to competitions.
As a child I competed in everything, sporting, hacking, jumping, dressage. But I always enjoyed Eventing and the challenge of being competitive across 3 different phases.
I played a lot of sport in school which left me with little time for the horses, but when I left school I decided to have a year off and work with horses. I went off to work for Gordon Bishop at the NSW Equestrian Centre that Heath and Rozzie Ryan ran at Lochinvar. It was hard work but I learnt so much in that environment and at the end of the year I certainly didn’t want to go back to Uni.
I’m now going into my 13th gap year and I still don’t want to go to Uni!
Over the years I’ve worked for a number of people across a range of disciplines. Through this I have made some great contacts and also learnt a lot along the way.
I now operate my own business from Kulnura in the Central Coast area of New South Wales. I offer training and schooling of horses and also do some coaching. I love seeing my students making progress and achieving their goals.
Over the years, Eventing has continued to be my passion, although I do enjoy competing in Showjumping as well. I am lucky to have a good team of horses at the moment who I have produced.
Over the past 11 years, I have enjoyed breeding some of my own horses. I love having the foals around, and I also love watching them grow up and seeing their progress in the competition world.
Last year at the Melbourne International 3 Day Event I placed 2nd on Rascal in the CCI*** class. Rascal is in fact, the first horse I bred which makes the journey with him all the more special.
At the same event, I also placed 5th in the CCI** on Fifth Avenue. Brooklyn, as she is known at home, is a horse I’m excited about for the future.
I also have another up and coming star, Helsinki, who I bred, broke in and have produced to 1star level.
I’m looking forward to competing these horses and see where the future takes them.
Favourite Dynavyte Products:
I was introduced to Dynavyte 2 years ago and have not looked back. All of my horses are on Microbiome Support. I’ve had great results since using this product. I’ve found that they all keep better condition and I’m actually feeding less. They look shiny and healthy. I’ve even noticed that horses that had previously had trouble with itch and rashes, are no longer constantly irritated and scratching.
I also run my eventers on Luronica and believe this is an important tool to help with their longevity in the sport. I also find Egusceed to be a fantastic product for horses that have struggled with ulcers or that just don’t seem to put condition on.
Stop Greasy is also a very useful product for Greasy Heel and other skin problems.
I have had excellent results with the Dynavyte range and feel very lucky to be supported by such a great company and the team of people behind it.
